"Sara was 25 when she died at home. She lived in Granite City all her life and graduated from Granite City High School in 2006, went to SWIC Community College until Heroin took over her life. She couldn't think any longer. She had a heart of gold, loved everyone and had a beautiful smile. She loved music and PEACE, LOVE were her favorite words. She touched so many lives in a positive way. There were approx. 500 people at her wake. She will be remembered of in a very fond way. My life will never be the same. She was on heroin for 3-1/2 years and was in many treatment programs. ATS in Edwardsville, IL was her family. She was clean for a year, but then relapsed. She never quit treatment, though. She didn't want to be addicted to heroin. She wanted to live."
